Grupo Folclorico Colonias de Jalisco is a Mexican Ballet Folklorico dance group located in Cheyenne,
Wyoming. In November 2006, we became the first Mexican folkloric dance group in the Cheyenne Family YMCA’s dance program.
The classes include traditional dance styles from Jalisco, Sinaloa, Chiapas, Nuevo
Leon and Colima, Mexico. The students are in the process of learning other dance styles
from Guerrero, Nayarit, Yucatan, and Vera Cruz.
Our Mission
To provide affordable, educational and recreational activities in a safe, clean and inviting environment
for youth and to improve the quality of life through a balance between cultural arts and humanities.

Becoming a Member
Dance lessons are $15.00/ a session (8 weeks) for each student.
Payments are made at the front desk of the YMCA.
(scholarships are available through the YMCA).
The schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays = 6:30-7:30 p.m. (Intermediate) Thuresday = 6:30-7:30 p.m. (Intermediate) Tuesdays
= 7:30-8:30 p.m. (Junior) Wednesday =7:30-8:30
p.m. (Junior)
Thuresday= 7:30-8:30 (Advanced )
Saturday= 9:00-10:00 (Advanced )
